hi so i pretty much read the whole book and now i gotta find 10 events from the book that relate to the authors life i have 7 i need 3 more can anybody help me with that i have been going crazy reading like 10000 biography's but i cant find much Significant events in Hurstons life. 1. At age three her family moved to Eatonville, the first incorporated black community in America. 2. Hurstons father became major of Eatonville. 3. In 1948 she was arrested for molesting a ten-year-old retarded boy, but the charges were dropped. 4. Before the hurricane came in 1928 residents had been warned to evacuate the low ground earlier in the day, but after the hurricane did not arrive on schedule, many thought it had missed and returned to their homes. 5. Lake Okeechobee’s dike that had been built at the south end was over flown causing the lake to burst washing the bodies towards the Everglades. 6. Houses were floated off of their foundations and dashed to pieces against any obstacle they encountered. 7. Burial services were quickly overwhelmed, and many of the bodies were placed into mass graves. Connections to specific events in the novel. 1. In the novel Janie leaves her husband Logan and moves to Eatonville with Jody who promises her a better life once he fixes up the town. 2. Jody becomes major of Eatonville and starts mistreating Janie by making her feel like she's not smart or good enough to associate with the people in the town. 3. Janie is arrested for shooting Tea cake her former husband but is released after court because she only shoot him in self defense. 4. One day Janie was looking out the window and observing the Seminoles heading towards the palm beach road, because the hurricane was coming but the citizens didn’t pay attention until the next day; Tea cake and Janie stayed regardless because they thought it was just going to be some wind in addition to that the white people didn’t go anywhere so they figured it would be ok. 5. Janie, Tea cake and Motor boat gathered their papers and headed outside the water was almost up to their butt and the wind was blowing the lake caught up to them and they had to hold onto a floating cow with a dog on top of her the dog who bite Tea cake. 6. Tea cake, Janie and Motor boat reached a 2 story house where they we able to rest for a little but the water caught up and they had to leave Motor boat was tired and decided to stay; the house later on was taken by the water current with Motor boat sleeping on it he survived. 7. While Tea cake was looking for something to do when two man told him that he had to help out by throwing the dead bodies in a hole but to be careful no to throw any white man in there those are the ones i have help me with 3 more please... read more
