Open Question: How do I sit back and let my daughter learn about her controlling boyfriend on her own?

My 21 yr old daughter is a senior at Yale. Lots of hard work for her to get this kind of opportunity. She meet a boy on the beach last summer. This boy comes from a mining family. This family is not educated and are basically hillbillies.They are becoming serious, Her friends cant stand him, her family cant stand him. He has no education and he doesn't strive to improve himself. He lives in a garage apartment at his parents home BUT tells her he is independent and wants to marry her. Also, he works in the mine and when he is not at work he goes and stays with her on campus. her friends are concerned that he is controlling her and pushing her away from friends, family and goals. Her friends say that he calls them to ask where she is if she has not return his call in 2 minutes. We are all seeing changes in her personality.
